I finally finished embroidering the sun that Rapunzel draws in Tangled! I started working on it more than 2 years ago, and I repeatedly told my spouse that I would finish it “soon.” We even left space for it on the wall at our last apartment, but as you can probably guess, that space stayed empty until we moved.
When we moved into our current apartment, I decided to hang it up half-finished, and just take it off the wall to work on it. Maybe it was seeing it on the wall every day, or maybe it was getting together in person with an embroidery friend, but I finally finished it!
I used chain stitch, satin stitch, woven wheel roses, and detached chain stitch flowers. To finish it off, I finally learned how to do french knots! I even covered the back with felt.
I have already drafted plans for my next embroidery piece, but I’ll need to get a hoop for it, so starting that will have to wait a bit. Maybe I’ll do a better job of documenting that process.
